Winners of the Architectural Photography Award 2014
Winners of the Architectural Photography Award 2014
There are two things every aspiring bachelor needs on his coffee table. One is a copy of the latest ShortList (obviously), the other is an architectural journal, filled with breathtaking towers and sweeping curves of glass and metal. For those of us who don't have a coffee table, we'll make do with losing ourselves amongst the winners and runners up of the Arcaid Images Architectural Photographer of the Year 2014.
Announced at this week's World Architecture Festival in Singapore, the $3,000 prize went to British duo Hufton + Crow for their interior shot of a lone viewer within the curved Aliyev Center in Azerbaijan - bagging themselves a runners up slot with an exterior shot of the same futuristic building.
If photos of buildings are your kind of thing (and we're guessing they must be if you're still here), be sure to head down to the Building Images 2015 exhibit of the winning and shortlisted entries at London's Sto Werkstatt building from 16 January to 27 February. We'll be the ones outside trying to get a decent photo of the car park.
