We can't wait to get our trotters on one of these.
A chef in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, has created what is thought to be the world's most expensive bacon butty, priced at £150. The upgraded version of everyone's favourite morning pick-me-up - entitled "The Bacon Bing Sandwich" - features seven rashers of bacon from a rare pig breed, saffron, sliced truffles, free range egg, water cress, truffle spread and - of course - edible gold dust and gold leaves. The creation is then finally cooked in truffle oil.
Paul Philips, owner of Tangberrys Coffee House, explained that he had seen similar luxury versions of food created in the US and decided to have a go himself. It takes 15 minutes to make each one, the ingredients cost £50, and the remaining £100 profit goes to two charities: SKRUM and Regular Forces Employment Association.
