How can you make being on a holiday-bound plane halfway across the Atlantic Ocean even better? By telling people you’re on a holiday-bound plane halfway across the Atlantic Ocean.
Sadly, most of the time, that’s just not possible. The small matter of no Wi-Fi and limited 3G scuppering your plans. But Virgin Atlantic aims to change that with its latest initiative. It’s called #SkyHighSelfie.
A new Facebook app, it allows you to log in and share your photos from the cabin. You simply click a specially created link and you’ll be connected. You’ll also be able to post messages for other passengers to read and respond to.
It’s currently available on four new 787 planes flying routes to Boston, Washington, Newark and New York’s JFK. The planes also have special mood lighting that subtly changes through timezones to assist passengers cope with jetlag and full length mirrors in the bathrooms. Which will be useful for one thing in particular. Just don’t get caught.
