Leaked Images Of Samsung's New 'Bigger' Smartphone
Poor Samsung.
Mere days after it was revealed the South Korean tech group had recorded a fifth quarterly drop in financial profits, someone's spoilt the party for their short term solution.
These gleaming slabs of pocket power are the new Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus - two handsets Samsung was set to unveil on 13 August as part of its Unpacked event (think a staged evening similar to the Apple launches, but with fewer celebrities, fuss and fans).
The Galaxy Note 5 (left) continues where the 4 left off: a vast 5.7-inch-ish screen wrapped in metal and glass, with apparently less of a plastic than the previous model. And yes, it still comes with a stylus.
The new S6 Edge Plus follows the logic of the iPhone 6 plus - a bigger, trickier-to-hold version of the impressive S6 Edge.
According to long-time leaker (of the news sort) Evan Blass, Note 5 will have a 5.7-inch, 2560 x 1440 display, with a better process than the S6, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. The cameras? A vast 16-megapixel shooter on the rear and 5-megapixel on the front.
Expect further details and pricing to be announced at that totally secret reveal on 13 August. Unless they have a strop and cancel the whole thing.
